Dr. J. Eric Hibbs Participates in Marine Corps Exercise

Navy Reserve Captain J. Eric Hibbs, DDS, participated in Operation Arctic Care 2005 from March 19 to April 2, 2005.  He served as Officer-in-Charge of an 18 member humanitarian team deployed via C-130 and Blackhawk military transport to the small Athabascan Indian village of Kaltag, Alaska.  The team performed medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services at no charge to the residents of this small village while enduring austere Arctic weather conditions. In addition to leading the team, Dr. Hibbs worked 12 hour days, seven days per week (including Easter weekend) diagnosing, formulating and completing dental treatment plans for over 50% of the village population.  In the process, he completed examinations and all treatment for 100% of all school-age children. The dental services Dr. Hibbs provided were valued in excess of $20,000. Ask him about feeding the polar bear! Dr. Hibbs, a drilling Reservist with the Marine’s 4th Dental Company has a private general dentistry practice on Lovers Lane in Dallas.
